Optimize Studying with Technology
If you enjoy implementing technology in your academics, using some of these student-centered tools may be what you are looking for!
On-Campus Computer Labs are available in Criss Library and Durham. These labs are available for student use; simply log on with your NetID to begin! Students are also able to check out laptops from Information Technology Services. Learn more about how to check out laptops here.
Online learning tools, such as GoConqr, Studyblue, Quizlet, and Cram give students opportunities to collaborate with each other. Students can post study guides, notes, tips and more to these sites, which are free for students to use.
Find Your Study Space
An effective study space is key for effective studying. What characteristics do you need in your study space? Less distractions? Low noise volume? Caffeine? Table Space?
Criss Library is a popular study location for UNO students. Many of your study needs can be provided for here, including caffeine, technology, research, and more! The café, located on the second floor, boasts a wide variety of Starbucks coffee, and you can use your Mavcard to pay while also receiving a 15% discount. You can check out laptops, headphones, chargers, and more at the circulation desks located on the first and second floors. Students are also able to reserve single and group study rooms for up to three hours at time through the library website.
MavLanding, located on Scott campus, hosts a coffee bar and several student study spaces. This is the perfect place to meet your roommates for coffee and a study session! Students can pay with their Mavcard to receive a 15% discount.
Milo Bail Student Center has many study spaces housed within an array of student-focused offices. Multicultural Affairs allows any UNO student to utilize their computers and printers free of charge; students can print up to 10 pages per day. Student Involvement provides a relaxed and collaborative space for students.
Mammel Hall has breakout rooms available to students which are perfect for group assignments and collaboration.
Utilize UNO Study Resource
Are you struggling in a particular class or simply prefer more assistance in a specific subject area? UNO has many resource to help their students succeed academically.
Math and Science Learning Center (MSLC), located in Durham, hosts peer tutoring for most math and science classes offered at UNO.
College of Business Administration at Mammel Hall hosts free tutoring for their students in multiple business-related fields, including finance and economics.
Computer Science Learning Center offers free peer tutoring for most computer science core classes, database management, cybersecurity, and more!
Many other departments have lists of tutors in their department offices. Visit your department office to learn more about tutoring services.
